DRUMANESS MILLS 7
IT was another 'Black Saturday' for Nortel, as they were dumped out of the Border Regiment Cup with this seven goal drubbing by Premiership stablemates Drumaness Mills at the Factory Grounds, making it five defeats out of five for Craig McMahon's new
look side.

It was all looking rather ominous when Drum marched into the lead inside the opening minute, though the Doagh Road side would have cancelled that one out had the woodwork not denied Gareth McMinn a rare goal.

Instead, it was the visitors who stretched the margin on 17 minutes, adding two more goals before half time.

Nortel did their best to restore some respectability in the second half, but it was possession without the required penetration, and the scoreboard started to click back into life on 67 minutes when more diffident defending allowed the Mills front man to easily round stranded player manager Craig McMahon.

Goals six and seven duly followed, with Nortel relieved to hear the final whistle, at least avoiding a repeat of the 'Albert Foundry ten'.

Nortel; C McMahon – McMinn (Young) Kyle, P McMahon, Doyle – Conlin, Dickson, Galbraith, Smyth (Blair) – Owens, Butler (McClelland).
