Ballyclare Ruby Club Seconds fielded a strong side against Enniskillen II in Junior one on Saturday and won comfortably 42-0.
The first half was reasonably close before a run by Smith ended with P. Morrow going in for an unconverted try. Later a break by Caldwell brought P. Morrow his second try before half time.
Early in the second half Smith and Reynolds made ground w
ith R. Boyd getting over for a try. Then from a lineout the pack drove forward and Gaston scored the fourth try.
A strong run by Smith resulted in W. Logan scoring a try converted by Caldwell for a 27-0 lead. Next Logan raced away to give S. Morgan the chance to score also converted by Caldwell. Good play by Logan ended with a try by Tweed. The final points came from a drop goal by S. Morrow. This was a good second - half performance by the home side and a fine team effort.
Ballyclare III 5, Armagh II 24
The thirds face Junior three league winners Armagh and were under pressure from the start. The visitors built up a 19-0 lead at half time.
However in the second half Maybin scored a try for the thirds. Armagh scored a late try to complete their 24-5 victory. Best for the Thirds were Evans up front and Skipper Watson.
Rainey IV 19, Ballyclare IV 9
The Fourths gave a game to a couple of the touring USA side who were based at the Cloughan over the weekend. Rainey had two tires in the first half against penalty from Wasson.
In the second half Wasson kicked two more penalties and M. Holland had a try disallowed. Rainey scored a late try to clinch a 19-9 victory.
UNDER 18 VICTORY
Last Wednesday in the Floodlit Nutty Krusty trophy the Under 18 XV beat Rainey 14-12 at Portadown. The tries were scored by Chris Hall and Ethan Jenkins both converted by Gareth Byers.
In the second round they play Banbridge next Wednesday night at Portadown.
On Saturday the U18 team beat the Maryland Exiles on tour from USA 34-17. The Americans headed to Dublin and Galway this week as part of their 10 day visit.
