BALLYNURE OB Football Club picked up early silverware when their Under 16 XI won the Plate Final at the Loughshore tournament.
In the earlier rounds played over four consecutive evenings, Roy McDowell's lads got the better of St Oliver Plunkett and Loughside, but were defeated by Dunboyne.

As a result they qualified to meet St Oliver Plunkett in the final of the subsidiary competition, in which strikes by Andy McMinn and James McCabe gave the villagers a merited 2-0 win.

The Ballynure Under 16 panel was: C Davies, C Dykes, R McDowell (C), R Rea, M Wray, R Henry, J Graham, G Woods, M Plant, J McCabe, A McMinn, R Moore, R McLoughlin, I Hume, C Graham.

Ballynure's main fund raising event will be an auction in Tildarg Orange Hall tomorrow ( Friday) evening.
