Glengormley High School's Year 8/9 football team won the Women's IFA Antrim Post-Primary Tournament at the Valley Leisure Centre recently.
In the league matches they had three hard fought games. Firstly with Monkstown when Carly Hinds put the team ahead, but Monkstown soon equalised. Then two excellent goals from Carly to complete her hat-trick put Glengormley 3-1 up, but Monkstown scored two of their own to result in a draw.

Goals from Hollie Campbell, Ellen Trimble and Nicola Armour gave the team a three nil win over Ballyclare and in the final league match Carly again scored the winning goal with a super strike to beat Belfast Girls Model.

The semi-final was against a strong Rathfriland High team. Good team work and defending including a clean sheet from Jessica Smith was rewarded when Ellen Trimble scored a goal a couple of minutes from time.

The hard fought final against St. Louise's ended in a scoreless draw. Penalties were the deciding factor with Carly Hinds and Hollie Campbell confidently converting their chances and Carly saving a penalty, the pressure was on Zoe Bailie's shoulders to score. She stepped up and placed the ball superbly in the corner.

Glengormley High School squad: Hollie Campbell, Carly Hinds, Ellen Trimble, Zoe Bailie, Jessica Smyth, Laura Keatings, Nicola Armour and Shannon Lewis.
