EDDIE Hill is on his way to Carrick Rangers, the deal expected to go through imminently – with the new recruit from Ballyclare Comrades signing on.
Hill's decision to join Carrick is a great boost for the Rangers but yet another blow for the reds.
"Eddie is a terrific player and has been a tremendous servant for Comrades," said Carrick boss Stephen Small. "His contract is up in August and he just feels he needed a fresh challenge.
"We're just awaiting confirmation of his release from Ballyclare. I've had discussions with their manager, Gordon Chambers, and he's agreed to let him go and it's now just a matter of completing the formalities.
"Eddie can play up front and on the right side of midfield. In his former days he was probably always regarded as a right side player, but he's equally effective up through the middle."
