However there was better news in the Holt Shield Ballyclare are top of their league on 14 points with Carnalea, followed by Spa and Balmoral each on six.
However in the Belfast and District Cup, Ballyclare lost 4½-2½ at home to Malone and also went down in the away leg for an overall defeat.
