NO CHANGE at the top was the theme of Ballyclare Comrades Supporters Club's Annual General Meeting.
George Hanna retains the position of President, while Tommy Streight (Senior) will again be in the chair, with Paddy Kelly and Ryan Tweedie re-elected as treasurer and secretary respectively.
Billy Hicks will serve another season as vice-chairman,
while Michael Clarke, Sammy Fee and Tommy Streight (Junior) will serve on the committee.
The chairman thanked Dennis Higgins, treasurer of Ballyclare Comrades Social Club, for conducting the election of office-bearers, and then went on to congratulate the manager, Jamesie Kirk, his assistant, Gordon Chambers, and his backroom staff on a successful season.
In addition to reaching the final of the prestigious Steel & Sons Cup, the team was in the running for the First Division title until the last few weeks of the season, when double defeats by eventual champions, Loughgall, ruined their chances.
He also paid tribute to the many hours of hard work put in by those who helped with the painting and other numerous odd jobs during the close season to ensure that Dixon Park was in pristine condition for the visit of the IFA inspectors.
On behalf of all connected with Ballyclare Comrades Supporters Club, Tommy Streight (Sen.) pledged full support for the manager and players in the coming season, during which competition is expected to be even keener, with the presence of no fewer than five former Premier League clubs who failed to make the cut.
Fundraising will once again be high on the agenda, with ducks already on sale for the annual Duck Derby that is scheduled for September. A full house is expected on Friday 17 October for the ever popular entertainment provided by Rev T and the Soul Brothers. A Night at the Races has been pencilled in for November, and this will be followed by A Night at the Riots in February.
"The Supporters Club exists to benefit the Football Club," stated Tommy, "and the proceeds from the various fundraising activities will be passed on to the treasurer Robert Fleck. So I appeal to all those who have an interest in Ballyclare Comrades to come along and join us, and help us to be even more effective. We are indebted to Terry Coulter from TC Cars, Ballyclare for his continued generous sponsorship of the Player of the Month awards, and to George Logan Cars, Ballyclare for sponsoring the Player of the Year trophy once again," ended the chairman.
