NEWTOWNABBEY Borough Council wishes to advise visitors to Ballyclare Cemetery that extension work is due to start from Monday, August 13.
This will cause disruption in the cemetery as the main access road will be used by contractors.
Margaret Lindsay, Parks and Cemeteries Manager explained: "We would like to apologise to visitors for any inconvenience over the next few months at Ballyclare Cemetery. However, the extension work is necessary to improve facilities and plans also include a beautiful garden area at the bottom of the cemetery.
"We are working closely with the contractors to ensure disruption to burials will be minimised as much as possible. During the works there will be parking restrictions and as the toilets will be refurbished, they will be closed from mid-September for approximately four weeks. The Council will provide temporary toilet facilities during this period."
Extension work is expected to be completed by Christmas 2007. For further information contact Mossley Mill on Tel: 028 9034 0078.
