Charity in focus at Mossley WI meeting
MICHELLE Gault from Blythwoods Care was the guest speaker at the February meeting of the Mossley Women’s Institute.
She spoke about the history of Blythwoods and how the organisation started in Scotland in 1966 and has been in Northern Ireland for the past 14 years.
The charity’s work includes shoebox appeals for people living in poverty in countries across the world as well as transporting furniture to needy people abroad, training for bible clubs and providing equipment and training for fire crews in Serbia.
The competition for the best item for the shoebox appeal was won by Ian Nesbitt and Lilian Smyth won the ballot.
Next month’s meeting is on Thursday, March 7 at 7.45pm in inlt Parish Church Hall with guest speaker Raymond Crooks, the Singing Chef. Visitors and new members will be most very welcome.
