STAFF from McDonald’s Glengormley restaurant united in a clean-up operation recently to rid unsightly litter blighting the local area.

Together with Newtownabbey Borough Council, the McDonald’s crew of 10 volunteers filled over 11 bags of litter collected from the Mallusk Road and Glengormley town centre.

Stuart Hunter is the Planet Champion at the Glengormley restaurant and supports the Business Manager to plan activities based on the key areas of litter, waste and energy.

He said: “Mallusk was highlighted to us as an area within the borough that needed attention due to the amount of litter dropped.

“I feel it is important to be socially aware of the impact litter has on our communities and we are looking forward to completing our next litter pick in the coming months.”
