Good relations funding to rise

THE council is to extend funding for its Good Relations Grant Aid programme.

At the Development Committee meeting on Tuesday, November 13, funding totalling over £3,000 was approved for the Greater Glengormley Churches Forum and the Rathcoole Friends of the Somme.

Councillors have approved extending the funding to £25,000 in order to “encourage and expand interest” in the programme.

The programme had a budget for this year of £17,500, which has been exceeded, however there have been other years were funding was not fully allocated.

Up to 75 per cent of the costs can also be reclaimed from the Office of First and Deputy First Minister.
