Grant aid on offer to local sports clubs

NEWTOWNABBEY Council is inviting sports clubs within the borough to apply for grant aid under its Capital Funding Programme for Private Sports Clubs.

In March last year a total of £63,051 in capital funding was approved for award to four local sports clubs. And the council has now made a second call for applications.

Awards are available for up to 50 per cent of total project expenditure, up to a maximum contribution from the council of £20,000.

The closing date for applications is February 15, with a shortlist of successful funding requests scheduled to go before the full council for approval on March 25.
