‘Look out for details of A2 work’

EAST Antrim MLA Alastair Ross has urged local residents to keep an eye on their post over the next few weeks for details about work getting under way on the A2 Shore Road dual carriageway project.

The DUP man said Roads Service will be carrying out a leaflet drop in the Newtownabbey and Carrickfergus boroughs to provide householders with information about the major roadworks, which are due to start next month, and possible traffic disruption in the area.

“I would urge all those who regularly use the A2 to commute or to journey for leisure activities to consider other alternatives.

“I know that the B90 is already a busy road and that the alternative of using the New Line to join the A8 Larne Road will lead to the bottleneck at Sandyknowes, so consider letting the train take the strain as a viable alternative,” he commented.
