A CHRISTMAS tea dance organised by Newtownabbey Borough Council has been hailed a success.

More than 100 senior citizens turned up for an afternoon of dancing and entertainment with Mayor Alderman Victor Robinson, at Ballyclare Town Hall, on Thursday.

After the dancing, afternoon tea was served and a ballot took place. Prizes for the Christmas draw were donated by Ashers Baking Company; Extra Fresh Gardens and Flowers; Prestige Catering; Hillmount Nurserie;, Bernard Henry; Asda; Newtownabbey Borough Council and Milestone Spar.

Jonathan Henderson, the Council’s Community Services Officer, commented: “The Christmas tea dance was a great success; tickets were totally sold out with many senior citizens coming along to join in.

“Everyone seemed to have a brilliant time and it was fantastic that so many sponsors kindly donated prizes on the day.”
