The incident occurred on Friday, December 14, but details were only released this week.

The 22-year-old victim was walking along the Mount Pleasant Road at around 8.30pm when he was approached by a group of males.

One of the men asked for a light before demanding the victim’s phone, pushing him to the ground, stabbing him and taking a large sum of cash from his pocket. The males then ran off in the direction of the Monkstown estate.

The victim was treated in hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The attacker is described as in his 20s, approximately 6’ 2” tall and slim.

He was wearing a blue hoody with a large white Adidas logo on the front.

He was also wearing grey tracksuit bottoms with a blue Adidas logo on them.

The other two males were both wearing dark hooded tops and one was wearing blue stone washed denim jeans. Both are described as smaller than the attacker.
