Police probe serious assault

POLICE investigating a serious assault near Rathcoole on Tuesday, February 5 have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

A man in his 40s was left with a head injury following an attack involving two males on the O’Neill Road.

It’s believed the assault took place at around 6.15pm along the stretch of the road between the Antrim Road and Doonbeg Drive in Rathcoole.

“Anyone who believes they can assist the investigation is asked to contact police on 0845 600 8000,” a PSNI spokesperson said.
