Scheme offers fuel savings for schools

A NEW scheme launched recently in Northern Ireland is offering local schools the opportunity to significantly reduce energy bills while also reducing their carbon footprint.

The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) offers long term financial incentives to help those wishing to install renewable energy technologies to heat their properties.

Through the scheme, schools can access funding for using biomass (wood pellets) and grants for the installation of new systems. The financial incentives, which run for 20 years, significantly reduces fuel bills while shortening the amount of time it takes to recoup the cost of initial installation.

Schools interested in finding out more about the RHI scheme should telephone 028 9073 2233.
