Street pastor information event

AN INFORMATION event will be held in Corr’s Corner Hotel tonight (Thursday) at 7.30pm for those people interested in becoming street pastors.

The programme is an inter-denominational church response to community problems, which will see pastors engaging with people on the streets to care, listen and engage in dialogue.

Newtownabbey churches are hoping to be involved in towns and parks to respond to local issues. They want the local church to respond and help with local issues and need volunteers from all sectors of the community and all age ranges.

Volunteers can be anyone aged between 18 and 70, male or female and will all play an important role.

For more information go to tonight’s information evening in Corr’s at 7.30pm. Training is expected to take place on Saturday, February 2 and Saturday, February 9.

Alternatively you can apply for training by contacting Mark Walsh on 077 7469 5511 or Andrew Irvine on 9024 2111.
