TOP jockey Tony McCoy and Northern Ireland football legend Gerry Armstrong were in Glengormley at the weekend to meet punters at the Paddy Power Bookmakers on Carnmoney Road.
McCoy, 11 times Jump Jockey of the Year, and Armstrong, World Cup goalscoring hero from Spain '82, were joined by Paddy Power himself at the local betting shop on Saturday afternoon.
The event, which gave staff and local punters the chance to chat to two of their sporting heroes, was organised by Paddy Power to celebrate the company's arrival in Northern Ireland.
The Dublin-based bookies took over the betting office beside the Glen Inn earlier this summer as part of a £19 million acquisition of eight McGranaghan Racing shops in the Greater Belfast area.
