I WAS dismayed to read the article in the Newtownabbey Times "My Child Wandered Home Alone." Since when has the antics of a naughty seven year old become worthy headline news?
How about reporting on some real local news like our overstretched and dirty hospitals or the traffic problems in Ballyclare, instead of persecuting such a soft target as local teachers?
As a parent with a pupil at Ballyclare Primary I have always found it to be a caring and a vigilant school with well thought out routines, not to mention thorough teaching. Ballyclare Primary School is a really great old established school with very dedicated and professional staff.
I'm sure that the Newtownabbey Times won't bother to print this letter of support for Ballyclare Primary School, since it seems they prefer to give front cover space to damaging the hard won reputation of a school.
