I AM the mother of a child who has attended Ballyclare Primary School for the past years and have always been happy with the way the school has treated its pupils.
However, I was shocked and disgusted at the letter I got from the school last week after the story in the Newtownabbey Times. I think it was a disgrace for the school to write to parents singling out the behaviour of one poor child. If that had happened to any child of mine, I would have been furious.
Although I have never had any complaints about the school in the past, the whole thing has made me a bit concerned about the safety of pupils. Where was the supervision? How could nobody have noticed a wee girl getting out of the school grounds?
Concerned mother, Ballyclare (name and address supplied).
