- First can I state that I am a personal friend of Councillor John Scott and am therefore well aware of his mischievous sense of humour and his ability to pin-prick certain people's pomposity.
I can imagine that Councillor Scott is fully aware of the historical significance of the Whitehouse site, due to his involvement with various peace programmes and historical events. John is well known for his work on both sides of the community and in particular the Ballyduff community.
He is not one of the tambourine merchants with their noses in the trough. Some of these guys would turn up for the opening of an envelope if they thought there was a chance that their picture would end up in the paper.
My advice to Councillor Scott would be to take up fishing as he has shown a natural ability to hook and land some prize fish with his words. One only wonders what he could do with a rod.
Perhaps Sammy Wilson would be well served to get out into the countryside, maybe loosen his clothes and cool down a bit.
Billy Montgomery, Doagh.
