Ex-pupil voices support for school in hairstyle saga
I AM amazed at the furore surrounding Grant Stranaghan. In my day at Ballyclare High School, woe betide anyone who broke the rules, let alone had the audacity to challenge them. As principal, Mr Millar would stand for none of this –how times have changed!
Mr George Stranaghan is aware of the school rules and as such should abide by them. If not, he should send his son to another school.
I hope, if the case goes to court it will find in Mr Knox's favour. If not, then school rules don't mean a damn thing and any child will be able to behave and dress whichever way they choose. Is it any wonder that discipline and standards in our schools and society in general are breaking down – 'spare the rod, spoil the child.'
Good luck Mr Knox, we are with you 100%.
Dr. C Nelson (ex-pupil, Ballyclare High School).
