Something needs to be done about Ballyclare traffic chaos

On the 18th of March it took me 25 minutes to get from one end of Ballyclare's Main Street to the top of the town, a distance of no more than half a mile. I was so frustrated I rang Roads Service who advised me to write to them.
This was not the first time it took me a ridiculous amount of time to get through Ballyclare. On several other occasions I was so cross I was minded to contact Roads Service.
Ballyclare has grown dramatically with new housing developments and shopping centres, including the new Asda opening on March 17.
However, nothing has been done about the road network. No matter where you need to get to in Ballyclare there is only one option - up the Main Street. It does not make any sense to build and build and not make provision for the extra traffic there will undoubtedly be.
A search on the internet revealed a plan for a Ballyclare relief road but it was one of a number of projects labelled 'Beyond 2015'. I cannot believe that the people of Ballyclare will have to wait this long for a road that is needed NOW.
I have no doubt that many of the Ballyclare residents will share my frustrations.
Johnny Conn (address supplied).
