A NEWTOWNABBEY band are set to headline a special fundraising gig in Belfast in aid of the Japan earthquake and tsunami disaster appeal.

Brightfalls - lead singer Aaron Jones, bassist Justin Lee Jamison and drummer Reece Wilson - top a list of local bands and performers coming together for the ‘Belfast Loves Japan’ event on April 25.

Aaron, a former pupil of Newtownabbey Community High School, and Justin are both from Rathcoole, while Reece lives in Carryduff. They formed Brightfalls earlier this year and have already released an EP track called ‘Treasure’. This will be their first headlining gig.

According to the band’s biography: “Aaron penned the tracks in his room after many late nights and saw the songs brought to life with complex interwoven guitar riffs, bass-chord sequences, melodies which change throughout the songs and pulsating drum patterns. The band’s sound is both heavy yet melodic and blends many genres into each and every song.”
