THE search is on for a budding young artist to design the cover of this year’s Ballyclare May Fair programme.

Ballyclare’s annual festival will run from May 22 - 27, and Newtownabbey Council is running a competition for the borough’s primary school children, giving them the chance to design the cover of the events programme which will be distributed to promote this year’s packed May Fair schedule.

Emma Davidson, Events Assistant, explained: “Judges will be hoping to find a winning picture which colourfully captures the atmosphere and tradition of the May Fair. All entries must be completed on an A5 sheet (148 mm x 210mm/5.83in x 8.27in) with a 2D design.”

All entries must be completed and returned to: Emma Davidson, Development Services, Newtownabbey Borough Council, Mossley Mill, Newtownabbey, BT36 5QA by Friday, February 17.

The reverse side of all entries should detail the entrant’s name, school, class, age, address and contact telephone number. The winner will then be notified by telephone in due course.

For more information contact Emma via email at edavidson@newtownabbey.gov.uk or telephone 028 9034 0009.
