TWO Newtownabbey students will be helping bring the magic of maths to life at ‘Maths in the City’ in Belfast on Saturday, October 20.

Joel Katzen and Matthew Hunter, who are both from The School of Maths and Physics at Queen’s University, will be taking part in the grand finale event of Maths Week, which will take place at Victoria Square from 12 noon - 4pm.

Joel, who is studying Physics and French, and Matthew, who is studying Theoretical Physics, will be among a number of nationally and internationally renowned mathematicians entertaining shoppers and passers by with challenges, mazes, maths magic, puzzles and card tricks.

Throughout Maths Week visiting international mathematicians have been bringing maths alive for thousands of primary and secondary school students across Northern Ireland.
