Christmas CD released to raise funds for Children’s Hospice

A CHRISTMAS CD has been released to help raise funds for the Glengormley-based Children’s Hospice.

Miami Showband legend Des Lee, along with radio and television presenter Robin Elliott, called on the help of some of their best friends on the local music scene to produce the CD to help the worthy cause.

The double A-side ‘Let It Be Christmas/Angels Among Us’ features Brendan Quinn, Justin McGurk, The Benn Sisters, Ben Sands and West End singer Pauline Carville and was recorded at Owen Smith’s Out The Back Studio in Newry.

Des Lee said: “The reason I selected the Children’s Hospice came from a conversation with my late wife Brenda, who sadly died from cancer.

“One day I went to visit her in hospital, and she could see how I was so upset and heartbroken.

“She turned to me and pointed out a four-year-old child who was also dying of cancer and said ‘I have had a good life and that child will have none’.

“My late wife adored children and she was so looking forward to having a grandchild but sadly it was not to be. So I chose the Children’s Hospice in her honour.”

‘Let It Be Christmas/Angels Among Us’ is on sale now from the NI Children’s Hospice Santa’s Grotto at Belfast’s Continental Market. The single can also be downloaded from iTunes and Amazon or www.regroupentertainment.com
