MEMBERS of Kilbride Cyclists recently handed over a cheque for more than £5,000 to Nigel and Anna Taylor - the parents of Doagh girl Connie Taylor, who has been battling serious illness since birth.

The money was raised during the cyclists’ annual charity ride on May 6, 2012 and their Mizen Head to Malin Head challenge during which 15 members rode the 364 miles in four days over the Jubilee weekend.

A total of £5,600 was presented to Nigel and Anna on behalf of ‘Connie’s Cause’ - a charity set up to help give something back to the three main organisations that have helped Connie get where she is today, namely The Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast (Helping Hands), Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice and Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Anna and Nigel expressed their deep appreciation to all the members of Kilbride Cyclists and Kilbride Presbyterian Church for putting so much effort into their fundraising activities. Thanks were also expressed to AES Ballylumford for their very generous donation to the fund.
