Belfast comes alive to the sounds of Belsonic
BELSONIC 2010 kicked off in style this week with the UK's finest Kasabian playing to a jam-packed Custom House Square in Belfast's city centre on Tuesday night.
Supported by local legends Ash, Kasabian played the performance of their lives to the 5,000-plus crowd leaving them with a very big smile on their faces.
Day two saw Scottish songster Paolo Nutini playing to a yet another sell-out crowd and the Paisley performer didn't disappoint.
Playing hit after hit he kept the capacity crowd singing every word, making it a very memorable night for all those concerned.
Thursday night was yet another sell-out show for festival organisers with the wet weather failing to dampen the spirits of those there to see Florence & The Machine.
The flame-haired songstress wowed fans with the likes of I'm Not Calling You a Liar before ramping it up with her version of Candi Staton's You've Got the Love.
A welcome encore ensured performances of fans' favourites Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up) and Kiss With a Fist, before bringing the evening to a close with a raucaus version of Drumming Song complete the audience participation.
Belsonic continues tonight (Friday) with Welsh rockers the Stereophonics set to take the Custom House Square stage. Support comes from Kids in Glass Houses.
The festival continues next Thursday, August 26 with 2manydjs, Soulwax, Two Door Cinema Club, Major Lazer, Kids on Bridges and the Sketchy DJs.
Next Friday, August 27, the Modfather Paul Weller will be performing, joined by The Courteeners, General Fiasco and Cashier No. 9.
The festival comes to a close with two now sold out shows featuring Biffy Clyro, Lostprophets and David Guetta.
