MORE than 200 people enjoyed a fabulous night of fashion and fun at the Mayor’s Charity Fashion Show on Friday, April 20 at Theatre at The Mill.

Star of stage and screen, Nuala McKeever compered the evening which showcased fashions from local retailers Joli, Bonita Shoes, Roundabout, Corsage, Burton, DKS Designer Kids, Gail Conway Boutique, Shoe La La and Naomi Bridal. Eyewear by McCandless Opticians was also on show on the catwalk.

The models’ hair and make-up was done by Karma Hair Design and Ravin’ Beauty.

The event raised in the region of £3,000 for the Mayor’s three charities - NI Children’s Hospice, Gis a Hug Foundation and Medecins Sans Frontieres.

Commenting on the success of the show, Alderman Billy Webb commented: “Many people from the audience commented that it was a fun evening, yet all of those taking part were very professional. I wish to thank the council staff, serving and a few previous councillors, and the retailers who supplied the clothes, shoes and sunglasses for their fantastic effort in making the event a great success. I hope that the retailers’ input leads to increased sales for them.

“We raised almost £3,000 from seat sales and the ballot, and this will be added to the total to be donated to my three charities.”
