MUSEUM at The Mill bloomed last weekend when it played host to a children’s workshop which helped transform budding young artists into paper florists.

The ‘Big Beautiful Flowers’ arts and crafts workshop encouraged the children to explore the woodland at the mill and be creatively inspired by nature before returning to the workshop to design their own floral arrangements.

Artist Bobby Rai Purdy from Young at Art commented: “The Museum is a fantastic space for all sorts of arts and crafts and being able to use the outdoors as well made the workshop extra special.”

Samantha Curry, the council’s Museums Officer added: “The kids’ workshops have been really successful in the Museum and we love to see everyone coming along at the weekend to enjoy the Mill and making use of the brilliant facilities here.”

The next children’s workshop at Museum at The Mill will take place on Saturday, May 4. ‘Playful Puppets’ will show the young participants how to design and make their very own caterpillar or dragon puppet.
