Bestseller Bateman in Ballyclare

CELEBRATED Bangor author Colin Bateman paid a visit to Ballyclare Secondary School recently during which he gave a talk to Year 8 pupils in a bid to inspire them to read and write creatively.

The former journalist (left) is famous for writing novels such as Divorcing Jack and Belfast Confidential. One of his other works, Murphy’s Law, was turned into a hit BBC TV series starring James Nesbitt.

The author signed copies of his children’s novel, Running with the Reservoir Pups, for the students who thoroughly enjoyed his readings and humour.

“It was a very enjoyable afternoon,” a school spokesperson commented. “The students enjoyed the question and answer session as they got to ask questions about where he goes to write, how much he earns and even the name of his cat.”
