FAMILIES can join Peter Rabbit & Benjamin Bunny this August in a fairytale ready made for a summer picnic when The Tales of Beatrix Potter will be performed outdoors on a magical afternoon (Sunday, August 12 at 2pm) in the Civic Square, Mossley Mill, Newtownabbey.
Exclusive to Quantum Theatre who are presenting the outdoor theatre performance, the classic tales from one of the best-selling children’s books of all time hops up for a perfect summer Sunday afternoon out, with live music transporting young and old alike on a magical adventure.
Jenni Coulter, Business Development Officer (Arts & Culture) at Newtownabbey Borough Council explained: “This enchanting performance offers alternative days out for families and those who enjoy good classic stories over the summertime. Audiences are invited to bring along their own picnics, rugs and low back seating for the full outdoor theatre experience.”
She continued: “Given the unpredictable nature of the Northern Irish weather, we suggest people bring clothing suitable for all weather conditions. At Newtownabbey we have seen a huge demand for outdoor theatre regardless of the weather and the Northern Ireland public appears to embrace the experience under all conditions.”
Gates open at 1pm, with the performance taking place between 2pm and 4pm in the Civic Square.
Tickets priced £12 (adults), £6 (children under 12 years) and £28 (families) are available online at www.theatreatthemill.com or from the box office on 028 9034 0202.
