THE Jordanstown School hosted its annual carol service for the first time in the grounds of the school.

The service, hosted with charity Action on Hearing Loss has been held in previous years in Stormont and Belfast City Hall.

The December concert, as in previous years, attracted great interest in the event with large numbers attending.

The audience took the opportunity to see the school’s state-of-the-art facilities and buildings which cater for the education of pupils who are deaf or visually impaired.

Children from the school performed carols and the Nativity play in song, word and sign language.

Meanwhile on Saturday, December 15 a Gala Ball was held at Brownlow House in Lurgan as a fundraising event for the school.

It was organised by former pupil Elizabeth McAughtery and over £2,000 was raised and will be presented to the school in the coming weeks.
