A BALLYCLARE beauty is hoping to become the Face of Northern Ireland.
Laura Keenan will compete with more than 40 other girls in the final of the Face of NI competition on September 22.
The 25-year-old from Henryville was selected for the final after impressing the organisers with her online application and photo.
“I entered the competition because it’s not like other beauty contests,” she told the Times. “There are no height, weight or size restrictions, and it’s open to people aged 18 - 28 which is really good, so it’s not your typical beauty competition. We (the entrants) are all different ages and all look totally different and come from a lot of different backgrounds which is nice.”
Laura, who works as a receptionist at Charles Hurst Land Rover in Belfast, has already worked with several local fashion photographers and secured some part-time modelling work.
Last month she took part in a catwalk show during Platform Belfast - an event showcasing the work of some of the best local artistic talent and up and coming fashion designers - and she’s scheduled to model in another showcase for new designers later this year.
