President Ann Graham welcomed members of Mossley WI along with guests from Carrickfergus, Glengormley, Straid and Templepatrick WIs to the Institute’s April meeting.
The speaker was Alister Bell, who gave a very informative and interesting talk on ‘The White House’ - Newtownabbey’s oldest building. His enthusiasm was clear for all to see as he spoke of its history and the work involved in restoring it. At present the historic Whitehouse Park venue has two interactive exhibitions - ‘A Tale of Three Kings’ and ‘Relive the History’.
Alister drew the ballot tickets, with a member from each Institute winning a prize.
Everyone enjoyed a delicious supper before the meeting ended with the Country Women’s song.
The next meeting of Mossley WI will take place on Thursday, May 3 in Mossley Parish Church Hall. The speaker will be from Hill Croft School in New Mossley.
New members and visitors always welcome.
