Oregano Restaurant in Newtownabbey is celebrating after winning a Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand award for the fourth year in a row.
Awarded annually by the world’s most prestigious food guide to restaurants providing high-quality food at moderate prices, Oregano Restaurant is one of only four restaurants in Northern Ireland to be awarded a Bib Gourmand.
Head chef and owner Dermot Regan said: “It is a great honour to be recognised by the Michelin Guide for the fourth year running.
“I would like to pay tribute to all of our staff for their talent and hard work in making this possible.”
The Michelin Guide is renowned for its awarding of stars but they make up only 5 per cent of the annual guide.
The rest of the selection is made up of restaurants such as Oregano that consistently perform to a high standard at affordable prices.
This year, 137 Bib Gourmands were awarded by the Michelin Guide in the UK and Ireland, including 38 new establishments.
The other three restaurants from Northern Ireland to be awarded ‘Bibs’ are Cayenne in Belfast, Fontana in Holywood and Restaurant 23 in Warrenpoint.
Oregano is situated in an elegant country house on its own grounds in Ballyrobert.
