Paul wins top photography prize

NEWTOWNABBEY man Mark Tumilty from Swinton Commercial handed over the Swinton Commercial Prize for photography based art to Paul Seawright at the 130th annual Royal Ulster Academy Art Exhibition held at the Ulster Museum in Belfast.

The RUA annual exhibition is open to artists in all disciplines - painting, drawing, sculpture, photography etc.

This was the first time that Swinton Commercial has sponsored the prize and it was won by Paul’s still life image entitled ‘The Actual Gun’

The gun in question is ‘The Actual Gun’ which was being held and used by ‘Bonnie’ of Bonnie and Clyde fame when they were both gunned down.

Paul is Professor of Photography at the Ulster University, Belfast.
