WHITEABBEY’S very own marathon man, Ray Davies, is planning to attempt a mammoth fundraising challenge next year.

To coincide with the 2012 Olympic Games in London, Ray will be taking on a gruelling test of his fitness and stamina - 17 cross-trainer marathons in 17 days.

Ray previously completed seven marathons in seven days on a cross-trainer at DW Fitness, Longwood Road to raise over £1,300 for the NI Children’s Hospice.

Big-hearted Ray has been fundraising for the Hospice for 10 years and has raised thousands of pounds for the charity. But next year’s marathon fundraiser, during which he will rack up more than 445 miles on the cross-trainer, will undoubtedly be his toughest challenge to date.
