Tom Duffy’s Circus is back in Newtownabbey.

Absolutely Circus is the 2012 production from Ireland’s best loved circus family.

Following on the huge success of last year’s programme, Tom Duffy’s Circus is back in town with a brand new show.

The Big Top sets up next to Tesco at Abbeycentre from Wednesday, June 6 to Sunday, June 10 and at Sixmilewater Park, Ballyclare on Monday, June 11 and Tuesday, June 12.

This year’s show opens with beautiful Bengal Tigers and young African Lions, followed by two ‘friendly’ Chinese Lions. Fun and excitement fills the Big Top as Tom Duffy’s graceful Palomino Stallions enter the ring followed by the Llamas and Zebra.

Animal welfare is very important at Tom Duffy’s Circus, where the animals have been born and raised in the Circus, as their parents were, and their parents before them.

Culture is a very important part of this Circus. This year Tom Duffy’s Circus celebrates the Chinese Year of the Dragon as the Che-Che-Haw Troupe present a lively presentation of traditional Chinese culture featuring Chinese Lions, a Chinese Dragon and an amazing Chinese pole act.

The first half of this year’s show finishes with the Duffy troupe of Bareback Horse Riders. This traditional act can trace its way back to the very foundation of Duffy’s Circus over 200 years ago. Every generation of the Duffy family has presented the act through the decades, and current members, David Marquez and Tom and Jamie Duffy are carrying on the family tradition.

The highlight of this year’s show has to be the amazing Flying Trapeze. This breathtaking act will have the audience sitting on the very edge of their seats as the amazing Chinese acrobats fly, somersault and twist through the air before being caught by the hands of the catcher.

And for the first time ever in Ireland these amazing acrobats perform the ‘triple passage’, where three members of the troupe fly through the air at the same time.

Tickets to all the Tom Duffy’s Circus shows in Newtownabbey and Ballyclare are available from duffyscircus.com, Ticketmaster or by calling 0844 4870208.
