WITH the end of winter almost in sight, Theatre at The Mill in Newtownabbey is offering a variety of music performances designed to put a spring back into people’s step as we move into the new season.
For a feast of exciting stories, big spectacles and great music, why not try an opera performance? ‘Quicksilver Flute Ensemble & NI Opera’s Young Artists will perform an evening of popular classical music, setting the scene of well-known operatic pieces at the Courtyard Theatre on Tuesday, April 9.
On a different note, NI Opera will bring its new one-act opera ‘The Bear’ to Theatre at The Mill on Thursday, March 21. Bringing together death, infidelity, a duel and passionate love, this witty and heart-warming story is complimented by William Walton’s fast-paced fizzling score and a selection of songs by jazz legend George Shearing.
Audiences can enjoy a night out with one of Ireland’s most popular country singers, Mike Denver, who will be performing his well-known hits, county classics and timeless tunes at Theatre at The Mill on Saturday, March 23. Mike will be accompanied by special guest band ‘Crystal Swing’.
Belfast-based singer songwriter Anthony Toner will play songs from his brand new album ‘Sing Under The Bridges’ as well as some old favourites in an intimate solo gig at the Courtyard Theatre on Saturday, March 30. The show will include superb guitar playing, an insight into the inspiration behind his material and some entertaining stories from the road.
