The members of Abbey Presbyterian Church in Monkstown held their June 16 Sunday morning service outside in the car park as the doors of the church remained shut.

The outdoor service was a display of support for the millions of people around the world who are persecuted for their faith.

Meanwhile, young people from the church’s Sunday Drop In prepared some tasty treats for the congregation at the Sunday evening
service.

A spokesperson for the church explained: “The young people from the Drop In decided to make a supper and serve it to members of the congregation as a thank you for all the church has done for them. This proved to be a successful night, so well done boys.”

The Sunday Drop In will take a break for the summer, with the service due to resume again in September.
