A WELL known local landmark provided the backdrop for scenes in the latest episode of hit television series Game of Thrones, which aired on Sky Atlantic this week.
Straid hill plantation, situated on the high ground off the Irish Hill Road overlooking Straid village, is being marketed as a film shoot location.
The 15-acre area of land has beech trees growing on it and disused mines run through the hill - features which last year attracted cast and crew from the Home Box Office smash hit.
The scenes, shot at Straid hill plantation on a sunny day last July, featured in episode two of the third season of the epic fantasy drama, which is watched by millions of people around the world.
