FORTY budding young performers took to the stage at Theatre at The Mill last week for the Easter Theatre School production of ‘Fiddler on The Roof’.

The young people worked with professionals from Guilford Theatre Company from Monday 1 - Friday 5 April, before putting on a sensational stage version of the popular musical on the Friday evening.

Those taking part filled their Easter week off with fun and new experiences working on the award-winning musical ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ and perfecting its well known songs ‘Sunrise Sunset’, ‘Matchmaker’, ‘If I was a Rich Man’ and many more. The Easter Theatre School runs annually at Theatre at The Mill, giving potential theatre stars of the future an opportunity to shine on stage and develop their passion for acting, singing and dancing.

Sean McNamara, director of ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ commented: “The young people here are more talented and focused than anywhere else we’ve worked before, it’s like working with professionals and putting a full musical together in five days is a great achievement for them all.”

For those who missed out on ‘Fiddler on The Roof’, or those who just can’t wait to do another theatre workshop, there are many more exciting opportunities for young people coming up at Theatre at The Mill during Summer 2013, including ‘Grease The Musical’, ‘Oliver Twist’ and ‘The Nutcracker & Hairspray’, as well as ‘Over The Rainbow’ for younger children aged 5 - 10 years.

The workshops offer young performers the chance to work with leading theatre professionals from Northern Ireland and London’s West End, as well as the internationally recognised Guildford School of Acting. The exclusive courses provide an opportunity for children and young people to grow and develop life skills, make contacts with those in the business, as well as creating friendships and long lasting memories.

Full details of the Summer 2013 theatre workshops are expected to be announced this week. Log on to www.theatreatthemill.com, follow @TheatreAtMill on Twitter or call the box office on 028 9034 0202 for full details.
