BALLYCLARE'S singing Priest, Fr. Eugene O'Hagan, has described his appearance on last week's Friday Night with Jonathan Ross TV show as "a very pleasant experience."
The show, which aired on BBC1 on Friday night, saw Fr. Eugene, his brother Martin and their friend Fr. David Delargy - aka classical singing group The Priests - enjoying a chat with Ross on the famous 'Friday Night...' sofa.
The Priests were joined on the popular chat show by legendary TV actress Joanna Lumley and Killers frontman Brandon Flowers.
"We had a very pleasant experience on the Jonathan Ross show and Jonathan seemed very personable," Fr. Eugene told the Times.
"Of course we got to meet Jonathan Ross himself, but it was also nice to meet the other guests - Brandon Flowers from the Killers and Joanna Lumley with her escorts from the Gurkhas."
Fr. Eugene revealed that the invite to appear on the top BBC show came following a conversation between Jonathan Ross and Welsh opera singer Katherine Jenkins.
"Apparently Jonathan was speaking to Katherine Jenkins on his radio show after the Brit Awards and she was telling him about meeting us and chatting to us. Believe it or not she described us as 'very cool' and said he should invite us on the show," he explained.
The Priests, who signed a record deal with SonyBMG in April last year, released their debut album in more than 30 countries, selling millions of copies around the world.
The trio are now preparing for a whirlwind five-date UK and Ireland tour later this month, during which they will play venues in Glasgow, London, Manchester, Belfast and Dublin.
"It will be a busy week, especially the back-to-back performances in London and Manchester, but we'll get a few rest days as well to enjoy some downtime, so it shouldn't be too bad," Fr. Eugene added.
