NEGOTIATIONS are continuing over plans to create a trout fishery at Mossley Mill Dam.
Back in November the council’s Development Committee agreed to progress the development of “a cost effective small fishery” at the Carnmoney Road North site.

At their December meeting, members were presented with an update on the issue which revealed that council officials have held further talks with Threemilewater Angling Club and their consultant to clarify several aspects of their fishery proposal, including management arrangements, insurance details, funding opportunities, public/club access, charges and re-stocking responsibilities.

A number of different options are now being costed by the council’s consultants before a detailed proposal is brought back to the committee for consideration in the coming months.
