Teenager injured in Monkstown assault

POLICE are appealing for information following an assault near the community centre at Cloyne Crescent, Monkstown on Tuesday.
Shortly before 12.30am an 18-year-old male was in the area at the rear of the community centre when two youths approached him and threw an unknown substance in his face.

The teenager’s eyes were left stinging by the attack, and he was treated in hospital for minor injuries.

Newtownabbey Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or any suspicious activity in the area to contact them on 0845 600 8000.
