Police say they are taking action to address ongoing anti-social behaviour problems in the Dorchester area of Glengormley.

Officers were responding to complaints from local residents about groups of teenagers gathering in the area, particularly in Sandyknowes Park, to drink alcohol.

One local woman, who claimed that some of the drunken youths have been “urinating in people’s gardens and exposing themselves to young children”, called on police to regularly monitor the park in a bid to halt the anti-social behaviour.

Responding to residents’ concerns, a PSNI spokesperson commented: “We are very much aware of the ongoing anti-social behaviour in the Dorchester area. We have detailed dedicated officers to cover this particular area and to date a number of youths have been spoken to, with the appropriate follow up action being taken.”
