STAFF at the Argos store in Abbeycentre are holding a Summer Charity Ball next month in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust, a charity devoted to helping young people fight cancer.
The fundraiser will take place on Saturday, September 8 at the Clarion Hotel in Carrickfergus and will involve a four-course meal with after-dinner entertainment provided by a DJ. All funds raised from the event will be donated to Teenage Cancer Trust - the official charity partner of Argos.
The charity funds and builds specialist units for young people in NHS hospitals where medical teams of teenage cancer specialists treat young people together in an environment tailored to their needs, giving them a chance to be themselves.
Carla Coomber, local Argos store Charity Champion commented: “Every young person battling cancer deserves to have access to a Teenage Cancer Trust unit and events like this do make a difference. We are asking the Newtownabbey and wider Co Antrim community to support our fundraising event by turning up and making a contribution to a worthy cause.”
